Kyoto Animation Arson Attack Memorial Service

July 18th, 2019, one of if not THE worst day in anime industry's history, aka the Kyoto Animation Arson Attack.

Today marks two years since this terrible event, and Kyoto animation is hosting a memorial service at 11:30am on their YouTube channel, with a moment of silence at 11:35am. If you desire to pay your respects to the talented staff who lost their lives, this is an excellent opportunity. View the memorial service here.

Last year, a special edition of our newsletter was dedicated to discussing the significance of this occasion and why Kyoto Animation holds so much value to fans, including myself. The newsletter also highlighted the steps we as a club did to support Kyoto Animation. Read the newsletter here.

For those who wish to continue supporting Kyoto Animation as it is still in a healing phase, there are a few ways to do so. First, it would be greatly appreciated if you watched Dragon Maid S2 this season, as it was intended to be directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto, who tragically passed away in the fire. His storyboard was salvaged and incorporated into the anime. Additionally, purchasing their Blu-rays or merchandise would be another significant way to support, as the proceeds will greatly assist in hiring talented new staff to invigorate the anime industry.

Thank you for reading, and take care of yourselves!
