[Anime@UTS] Monthly Newsletter – April Edition

Monthly Newsletter title

Hello fellow anime fans! Hope you have all been enjoying the first few weeks of uni. As for me, I can already start to feel myself slowly dying, haha..ha..haha…
Anyway as you may or may not know, our weekly events have begun! This means that if you ever have some spare time between your studies you can come along and chill with us for some good old anime, drawing or playing games!

News and Events Banner

To start with some sad news, Kouji Wada, the singer of the original Digimon theme song Butterfly passed away due to cancer on April 3rd. As a long-time Digimon fan, you will be dearly missed.

Are you a Shirobako fan? If so, here’s something you might wanna hear: during a panel at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) last month, the producers at P.A. Works got together and discussed thepossibility of a sequel. Infinite producer Takayuki Nagatani stated “We wanted people who watched Shirobako to get a lot out of the show. If we could decide on a theme, there might be a chance [for a sequel].”

The new anime Spring season is upon us! So much new anime! Endless possibilities! Lost on what to watch? Here are some suggestions our very own execs are looking forward to!

My Hero Academia [Boku on Hero Academia]
Jean: I just heard it was a really good one and the art is really western. Almost like Guran Lagan style.

Ace Attorney [Gyakuten Saiban]
Del: Honestly very excited about Ace Attorney. The games were all I could talk about for months and now it’ll probably be the case again with the anime.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond Is Unbreakable [JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken: Diamond wa Kudakenai]
Lester: Diamond is Unbreakable looks a million times better than Stardust Crusaders, and crotch to face interaction is at an all time high.

The Asterisk War: The Academy City on the Water Season 2 [Gakusen Toshi Asterisk]
Matt: I’m excited for Gakusen Toshi Asterisk Season 2 – I have a massive crush on Claudia! And they’re coming up to the arcs with the really heavy philosophical stuff, which is something I love.

Vadim: It is made by one of the top studios out there – Trigger (Gurren Laggan, KLK, Little Witch Academia, Inferno cop, just to name a few), so you know the animation is going to be top notch. Then there is the plot – 7 students connected together by the bond of pain (wounds), learn about the gruesome experiments that are happening in the city and fight agains it.
