, by , posted in Music

Hey everyone! I hope you’re all coping well with your first day of uni! Or for most of us, probably your first week back! :D

Since we have our first official karaoke of the year coming up on this Saturday 5th March (, I thought it would be prudent to post a wonderful duet featuring the talents of Clear and Dasoku, two vocalists from the renowned Japanese video site, NicoNicoDouga.

Karaoke and Eatout

February 27, 2011, by , posted in Events

Welcome to Part 2 of our Orientation activities!

Come and celebrate one of our favourite past-times and staple events, Karaoke + Eatout! If you have a burning desire to sing, come and make a fool of yourself at karaoke. Because you can’t stop the music! Nobody can stop the music! And if you don’t feel like singing, then come along anyway and watch other people make fools of themselves.

Afterwards, join us for dinner. Fill your stomach with Japanese food, drink some sake and have a chat with other club members!

Date: Saturday 5th March, 2011
Time: 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Location: Mizuya, Town Hall

Don’t know where Mizuya is?

No worries! We’ll be meeting at the Town Hall steps at 1:45PM, so if you don’t know where to go, just look for us there and we will set off together. For a general idea, Mizuya is across the road from the George St Cinemas.

Anime@UTS Orientation Picnic

, by , posted in Events

In the year 2010 of the Common Era, the Holy Empire of Anime invaded UTS. The small tower university had no chance against Anime, which was the world’s last remaining superpower. Despite its lack of natural resources, UTS had adopted a stance of cultural isolation. In order to take the tower, the Anime forces mobilised the first of the Otaku Frames; a new kind of fanboy/fangirl powered armour. Their abilities exceeded expectations and the UTS defences fell one after another before the might of Project Desu. UTS became a territory of the Empire and was stripped of its freedom, rights and even its name…

That designation was the new name given to the defeated university.

Real Description:

Are you a new member of anime@uts or looking to be a member? Then this is for you!

Starting university can be hectic, confusing, chaotic, rapid, fast and confusing. So why not take a break from the rush and come to UTS’s Annual Orientation Picnic! In the air-conditioned (and dry) comfort of the Concourse, come spend a lazy summer day with other members of the anime club. You can meet new people (old and new members alike), play ball games (depending on the weather, and beware of the glass), board games and mahjong, throw around a frisbee or vortex, or just have some light conversation while sitting on the provided couches. Either way, come have a good time and make the first part of university a memorable one.

Time: Saturday, February 26 · 10:00am – 4:00pm
